Cambridge East is a co-educational, contributing school of Years 1 - 6 students, situated on the northern side of Cambridge. The roll range of our school is approximately 390 - 450 students, currently accommodated in 18 classrooms. The school has an enrolment scheme in place, meaning only students living within the allotted zone may be enrolled. ZONE MAP

The school has an open door policy which encourages community involvement whenever possible.

The school was first established in 1955 with a four classroom block and a roll of 146.

Staffing at the school consists of 17 full-time teachers, 6 part-time teachers, 7 support staff, an office manager, an office administrator, a librarian and a caretaker.

Special Needs and Special Abilities are well catered for. Reading Recovery and targeted Literacy and Numeracy programmes are operated for identified pupils, as well as an Extended Studies programme for those pupils identified as Gifted and Talented. The school operates a Perceptual Movement Programme throughout the junior school, and for older students as required.

Extra amenities on the school site include a hall, library, three adventure playgrounds, a swimming pool and two large shade areas. Information and Communication Technology is a focus development for the school and all students will have access to these technologies in their classroom as well as access to the computer suite. The school is fully networked.
