Rugby team registrations are organised through the school and the competition is managed by Cambridge Junior Rugby and Community Sports (CJRS) Club: http://cjrs.co.nz/
*** IMPORTANT changes to Cambridge Junior Rugby for 2019
Years 1 & 2 play 6th Grade Rippa rugby
Year 3 play 8th Grade first year of tackle rugby
Year 4 (& some Year 5 via dispensation) play NEW 9th Grade rugby
Year 5 (& some Year 6 via dispensation) play local 11th Grade rugby
Year 6 to play for CJRS in the Waikato -wide 11th Grade (can apply for dispensation to play in the local 11th Grade competition)
ALL Year 6 players to come to the MUSTER at CJRS Clubrooms on either of the muster days and times even if they are applying for dispensation:
Sunday 3rd March – Year 6 @ 4:30pm
Thursday 7th March – Year 6 @ 6:00pm
SEASON DATES
The season usually commences in early Term 2 and runs through until the end of Term 3.
VENUE
Games are normally played on Saturday mornings at the CJRS Club grounds on Taylor Street, Cambridge East. Year 6 11th Grade teams will play Waikato-wide in 2019.
COST
$60 for 1 child
$110 for 2 children
$150 for 3 children
Please note that registrations are not accepted until payment is processed or an arrangement has been made with the school office.
UNIFORM/GEAR
Your child will need the following items to help make their Rugby season successful:
- Rugby Shorts - plain black shorts please – no NRL Logos– available at the Warehouse or Sportsworld
- Rugby Boots – there are a limited number of second hand boots available – please enquire with the committee
- Rugby Socks (school colours in a hoop) – available at Sportsworld
- Water Bottle – named
- Rugby Jersey and Jacket – supplied
- Mouthguard – Mouthguards are compulsory - to be worn at all practices and games. The rule is ‘No Mouthguard – No Play’
PARENT HELP
We rely heavily on parents/caregivers volunteering to coach and manage our sports teams, please indicate in your registration if you are available to help in either capacity.
TRAINING
Days and times will be confirmed once registrations are complete, teams are formed and coaches/managers assigned.
Due to the nature of the sport, changes may occur to the above details prior to the event. Should these changes affect you or your child, these will be communicated via email once you have registered your child/ren for this activity.
