SEARCH ENGINES FOR KIDS
The school also has free access to (access tiki site.) EPIC is a collection of databases containing video's, images, music, New Zealand and overseas articles. I would highly reccommend using Encyclopaedia Britannica. All you need is the school login and password. Username: CamEast  Password: camesch     www.tki.org.nz/r/epic

Encyclopaedia Britannica Online School Edition:  Contains 3 versions: Primary Britannica for primary school students, Student Edition (Y6-9).  The Encyclopaedia Britannica now includes a New Zealand in Focus feature, including selected biographies, natural history, economics & politics, history, cyulture and recreation, and places.


Te ara Encyclopedia of New Zealand is a must as it includes some wonderful interactive sections. These are great sites for the students to use when researching for information on ceartain topics.

It is a safe visual search engine. The nature of the cloud allows kids to refine their search by mousing over or clicking on keywords and phrases that appear in the cloud. Type in your keyword and a cloud will appear with similar keywords and related websites.. Visual search using mind mapping.
