The Library is open from 9.00am - 3.00pm everyday. It is also open at lunchtime from 1.00-1.30. Please remember to bring your book bags when you come to the library for your class visit.
LIBRARY RULES
To be on your best behaviour during class visit and at lunch time.
Put cushions, chairs and paddles back where they belong.
Be careful and respectful of all library materials.
Use the computers appropriately.
Do not run or shout in the library.
Always check that the library is tidy when leaving.
LIBRARY SERVICES
The library works on a flexible rostered system allowing for classroom visits and for those wishing to do research. During class visits, students will get the opportunity to learn a variety of library skills from their teachers and the library team. Classroom visits to the library are once a week, however students are allowed to keep their books for two weeks. If you have not finished your book you are able to RENEW it. All students are encouraged and given the opportunity to take books out.
New entrants are allowed one book out
Juniors and seniors are allowed two books out.
The library contains approximately 6000 books. There are three main collections:
FICTION, NON-FICTION AND REFERENCE.
Also avaliable are magazines, CD-Roms, video's and board games.The library is fully automated. There are two computers containing the library catalogue, internet and e-mail. Students and teachers are able to use the catalouge for research or for general browsing. There are also educational games avaliable for the students at lunchtime.
